I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Maryland, where I serve as the Director of the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics undergraduate major. I am also a Faculty Affiliate at the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets and an Affiliated Fellow at the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Studies in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. I completed my PhD in four years at the University of Arizona under the direction of Jerry Gaus, Dave Schmidtz, and Steve Wall. My work has appeared, among other places, in the the Journal of Philosophy, American Political Science Review​, and American Journal of Political Science. My first book, published by Cambridge University Press, is titled Secret Government: The Pathologies of Publicity. My next book is on the philosophy and political economy of upper legislative chambers.
